Sport photography workshop with Reuters photographer Eddie Keogh

Veteran Reuters photographer Eddie Keogh shot his seventh football World Cup finals in 2010. Based in London Keogh is an award-winning photographer who previously worked for major UK newspapers, he has won the UK Picture Editors Guild Sports Photographer of the Year for 2010. He also has won Sports News Picture of the year for both 2010 and 2009 and was highly commended in the 2010 Sports Journalists’ Association Awards in the Specialist Photographer category.

“I’ve had a passion for photography and sport since I was 17. 31 years on and I still love both. I don’t profess to know everything about photography (trust me, no-one does), but I hope that my knowledge and experience will bring a genuine understanding on how to be a better sports photographer. We don’t pick up our cameras because we have to, we do it because we enjoy taking pictures and seeing the results. My goal will be to see you improve your skills and knowledge of sports photography but most importantly, enjoy it.” Eddie Keogh

WORKSHOP PROGRAM

Day 1 – Master class / Exchange around the master photographer oeuvre, sport photography in general, and review of each participants projects/portfolios.
Video interviews making-of for each participant.

Day 2 – Practice / Outside-Inside shooting at one of the several sport venues in Barcelona (skate-board, soccer, swimming), group critique, editing, improvements suggestions.

Day 4 – Project making / Editing and exchange around the best way of presenting one’s work.

Workshop hours: 10h-17h.
Teaching language: English. Translation will be guaranteed where needed by the course assistant.
